There appears to be a growing trend among many U.S. companies that has no signs of slowing down in the foreseeable future. They are relocating some or even all of their off-shore production back to North America. China no longer holds the sway that it used to, but countries such as Mexico are quickly becoming the much more attractive option.
This trend has only been bolstered by the COVID-19 pandemic and the upheaval it’s caused in supply chains. There is an increased supply chain risk that comes with long distance travel, the difficulty and possible delays that come from maintaining spaces free of COVID-19, and quarantining.
